According to a recently released urban innovation index report for Guangzhou (2024), the number of high-tech enterprises has increased to 13,000, while science and technology-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises have risen to 21,000. Twenty-two companies from Guangzhou have been selected as global unicorn enterprises, placing the city first in the nation for growth in this category.
On April 10, representatives from 30 consulates in Guangzhou visited the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), gaining firsthand insight into this landmark model of China-Singapore bilateral cooperation.
Guangzhou's Panyu District officially launched the city's first "air taxi" network on April 8, offering rapid aerial travel between cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

It was reviewed and adopted by the Seventh Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Fourteenth Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress on December 28, 2023. It is hereby promulgated and will take effect from February 1, 2024 onwards.
