Starting from January 10, the train operation of Guangzhou South Railway Station, Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station and Guangzhou East Railway Station will be optimized, according to the China Railway Guangzhou Group Co., Ltd. (CR Guangzhou).
In order to ease transportation pressure at Guangzhou South Railway Station, the railway authorities will make the following adjustments:
1) Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station will add a total of 104 trains, including northward trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway (42), southward trains to Shantou South Railway Station (2), Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway (28), and slow-speed passenger trains (32).
2) Guangzhou East Railway Station will no longer operate slow-speed trains.
3) Guangzhou Railway Station will mainly operate slow-speed trains and undertake Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway train services.
With the opening of the Guangzhou-Shanwei High-speed Railway and the Shantou South to Shanwei section of the Shantou-Shanwei High-speed Railway, connectivity between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Chaoshan region is further enhanced.
Currently, it takes 114 minutes and 110 minutes at the fastest speed to travel from Shantou South Railway Station to Guangzhou East Railway Station and Shenzhen North Railway Station, respectively, greatly promoting people-to-people exchanges between Guangzhou and the eastern part of Guangdong.
In addition, some trains that pass the Hangzhou-Shenzhen Railway will be moved to the route of the Ningbo-Guangzhou High-speed Railway.
