What will the inside of Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station look like?
Update: 2023-12-25     Source: GDToday

Under the design concept of "flowers blooming all the way from Baiyun Mountain to Pearl River in a prosperous era", the roof of the Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station consists of extending petals resembling the Kapok flower, which is Guangzhou's city flower.

The outer part of the station covers a total area of 340,000 square meters, while the inner circular station occupies a total area of 97,000 square meters, housing 11 platforms with a total of 24 tracks. The construction of the station has mostly been completed, and it is expected to be put into operation at the end of this year.

The station consists of 11 platforms with a total of 24 tracks. Among them are five platforms with 11 tracks for high-speed trains, five platforms with 11 tracks for conventional trains, and one platform with two tracks for the Guangzhou-Qingyuan intercity trains. The metro planning for the station includes a total of six lines, with two planned for the near future and four for the long term. It will serve as a large-scale integrated transportation hub, encompassing both railways and urban public transportation, helping Guangzhou build itself into a hub-based network city.

Following the TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) concept, the overall design of the station centers on its role as a transportation hub and its urban location. It aims to create a brand-new railway hub and passenger station with smooth and integrated services, a green and cozy environment, economic and artistic functions, as well as intelligent and convenient technology.

In the future, the station will be developed into a comprehensive transportation hub that integrates conventional trains, high-speed trains, and intercity transfers, with the peak-hour passenger flow expected to reach 15,364 passengers.
