On August 22, Liwan District held a Xiguan folk culture festival for Qixi, the Chinese Valentine's Day. A decorated Qixi-themed tour bus traveled through several historical attractions and intangible cultural heritage projects. Tourists can also enjoy authentic Xiguan food, picturing the lover on the romantic Moon Bridge in Litchi Bay.
The traditional Qixi Festival is celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, which is usually August in the Gregorian calendar. The Qixi Festival captures the enduring tie between lovers and the enduring optimism that love will always find a way and is created as a symbol of their commitment.
