Following the extensive upgrade and reconstruction of Guangzhou Railway Station, a comprehensive network of 10 high-speed railway and intercity lines will be formed, facilitating seamless travel within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's visionary "one-hour living circle," according to a key urban development plan recently released.

According to the plan, the area surrounding Guangzhou Railway Station is set to rejuvenate, transforming into a modern urban exemplar integrating commerce, residence, industry, culture, and ecology through comprehensive urban village transformation and urban renewal strategies.

The total area covers 238 hectares, with 189 hectares in Yuexiu District, 36 hectares in Baiyun District, and 13 hectares in Liwan District. It is bounded by Jiefang North Road in the east, Dongfang Hotel, Renmin North Road, and Liuhua Road in the south, Zhanqian Heng Road and Guangyuan West Road in the west, and Sanyuanli Avenue in the north.

Also, the area will significantly optimize its transportation network, adding four railway-related passages, two expressway passages, and clearing seven primary and secondary roads.

Notably, along Guangyuan West Road, a 350,000-square-meter fashionable open garden-style commercial complex will be developed, complementing the hub function of Guangzhou Railway Station and forming a high-quality industrial cluster.

The plans also aim to cultivate a hub-type international business district that deeply integrates with the digital economy, cultural creativity, fashion design, and other industrial chains, forming a new business ecosystem with international competitiveness.

The plan promotes economic development while balancing cultural heritage and ecological protection, aiming to build a new green and beautiful Guangzhou model where production, life, and ecology coexist harmoniously.

Moreover, the plan emphasizes high-quality community construction by building community centers and integrating diverse facilities to enhance residents' quality of life and happiness. These community spaces, with profound local cultural characteristics, also invigorate the night economy by introducing elements such as cultural museums and trendy fashion, creating neighborhoods with charming characteristic that offer citizens a rich and diverse cultural life.
