Update:2024-04-25    Source: GDToday

The annual "Yangcheng Night Market" night consumption season in Guangzhou was officially launched on the evening of April 22, 2024. This event marks the commencement of a city-wide initiative to stimulate nighttime economic activities, with the introduction of the first batch of 15 designated metropolitan-level night market zones.

The "Yangcheng Night Market" night consumption season aims to invigorate the nocturnal economy of Guangzhou. The Big Xiguan Commercial Area, comprised of the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, Yongqing Fang, and the Link Plaza, epitomizes a blend of longstanding commercial culture, distinctive Lingnan architectural heritage, rich local customs, and the unique gastronomic culture of Guangdong Province.

Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street

Located in the Hualin Subdistrict of Liwan District, the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street was inaugurated in September 1995 as China's first commercial pedestrian street. It stands as Guangzhou's most well-preserved and extensive arcade-style traditional commercial street. Offering a comprehensive array of functions including dining, accommodation, shopping, entertainment, and leisure, it exudes the authentic charm of old Guangzhou.

Yongqing Fang

As a nationally accredited 4A-level scenic area, Yongqing Fang serves as a prime example of successful urban revitalization in Guangzhou's old city. It has evolved into a multifaceted hub for tourism, culture, entertainment, and social interactions, embodying a fusion of historical charm and contemporary vibrancy. Yongqing Fang has attracted over 30 distinctive brands in its west zone, rejuvenating national brands and invoking collective memories.

Link Plaza

Situated along Huangsha Avenue, the Link Plaza serves as a pivotal linkage point connecting various culturally rich landmarks such as Yongqing Fang, Shangxiajiu, and Litchi Bay Creek. Integrating modern elements with traditional aesthetics, the plaza has a daily passenger flow of over 120,000 visitors, accommodating a diverse range of retail, dining, lifestyle, and entertainment facilities.

The concept of the night economy serves as a crucial indicator of urban prosperity, cultural richness, and psychological fulfillment. In line with this, Liwan District has meticulously enhanced its local resources, injected cultural depth and modern elements and strived to establish high-quality cultural hubs and iconic "cultural IP landmarks."

In addition to the aforementioned attractions, Liwan offers a plethora of high-quality nocturnal destinations catering to diverse interests, such as gourmet dining, sports and fitness, and fashion. From the culinary delights of Xiguan to the artistic ambiance of Pantang under moonlight, Liwan promises an array of enriching experiences for night owls.

The robust commercial atmosphere in Liwan continues to thrive, with the district constantly upgrading and fostering distinctive, service-oriented commercial clusters and shopping malls. These venues provide an ideal setting for urbanites to unwind and relax after a busy day.
